FALL/WINTER 2024
Mandy Madsen & Susan Solomon
November 1-December 31, 2024
Opening Reception: November
Mandy Madsen: "I approach painting as my time to create and connect with God. My painting style is very loose and expressive. My desire is for people to feel the passion and emotion that goes into each piece.
My faith means everything to me, so to be able connect with God while creating and, at the same time, glorify Him by exposing others to my art is fulfilling. The therapeutic benefit of art and the spiritual connection to my Creator would be enough for me; however, as opportunities through social media, my gallery and word of mouth referrals are opening up doors, I am eager and excited to see where they lead.
This selection of work mainly consists of paintings of the sky. I started painting the sky back in 2021 after losing a friend to suicide. I find it to be a subject that is hopeful, emotional, creative in both its art form and in real life. It is ever-changing, yet always there. I’m thankful for each day, even the worst of them. I use large brushes, oil paints and a variety of substrates to achieve a desired look.
I hope you see God and His beauty as you view my work and know how thankful I am to share it with you."
