Helen M. Michaels is a lifelong artist that has been captivated by horses since her childhood days spent in sunny, coastal North Carolina. Since moving to Saint Paul in 1978 with her husband, she raised a daughter, shared her artistic skills, and explored spiritual realms by working as an art therapist for over 20 years.
Additionally, she has published artwork on multiple platforms: book covers and illustrations, puzzles, gift bags, calendars, and a complete set of oracle cards, entitled “Audacious Action Angel Oracle Deck” with author Lorraine Roe.
The artworks in The Art of Equine Connection for Hope and Healing exhibition includes members of a healing herd of horses which Helen visits weekly (since 2012) and other healing horses. This body of work integrates her years of Reiki energy work, animal communication, intuitive skills with a new painting method she learned from British Columbia artist, Diane Williams, to express the healing spirit of horse for those who
cannot come to them.
